and has it been a giant pain in the arse?

I bought the phone brand new and on arrival the screen was yellow. Don’t worry Google says that’s just the adhesive setting in as it warms up. Okay, I hope this doesn’t suggest problems with build quality since I have never had that happen with another phone.

2 months down the line and all the goodies in that black bar start to fail. Reception goes to shit and the Camera begins to struggle. Hmmm... maybe I should use my right as a consumer and claim on the warranty. Yeah! I’ll do that.

3 days later. Hey look my replacement has arrived man that quick of them to send me a BRAND NEW REPLACEMENT Phone and hey wait a second why is this covered in scratches? Also the sides are all dented. WTF.

“Grabs other broken phone”

Okay this is some bullshit. My 2 month phone has zero blemishes but my 2 minutes is covered in them. This clearly isn’t BRAND NEW.

Sigh. Should have of bought the damn Samsung.

If your phone is

A - less reliable than your DD

and/or

B - Larger than your DD

...

I think Huawei is the one to blame here as they make the 6p, maybe the 5x made by LG has less issues.

My friend wants a 6P really badly. I thought Huawei was a good brand; I’m sorry you’re having issues.

It was on the top of my list, but my friend had issues (radio) with his so I went with the V10 instead...it's been a gem.

Went with the 5X which seemed about as big as I could tolerate. Made by LG, no bloatware, simple design, working great. Going with Huawei for their flagship instead of budget phone was an interesting choice.

You’re sending the “new” one back right?

Looks like I’ll be sticking with my 5 a little longer.

Honestly Huawei made me nervous. Its why I went with the newest Moto X Pure Edition.

That and the fact that I only paid $350 for it on Amazon

I have a 6P and no issues here, minus the slight annoyance of momentary loss of service (verizon sim). But I’m ultimately happy with my phone

Yikes. Sorry you're having issues with it. The Android market is a tough one. I always recommend the Moto X as its stock Android and a great phone. Admittedly, my mom got a moto x with a screen defect, but Motorola customer service was easy to deal with and sent us a brand new replacement.

The last few Nexus releases have been disappointing. My Nexus 5 is starting to really show it’s age as the power button is sticking so I’ve had to use Gravity Screen the past few weeks. As a result the already less than suitable battery drain has gotten horrifically worse. I thought about getting a 5x on Black Friday but I really like the idea of having a swappable battery and microSD slot so I’ve considered getting one of the international LG G4’s instead. I don’t like getting phones on contract even though I don’t have any intentions of switching anytime soon. Maybe I’ll just bite the bullet and get a V10.

I’ve got a graphite 6P and I, thankfully, haven’t had any of the issues mentioned along the internet.

Seems like whoever is in the RMA department deciding which phones to go out needs to lay off the eggnog.

It’s at the top of my list for replacing my N5 - I’ve finally given up on the idea of finding a small phone that’s an adequate replacement for it - but I’m waiting for the price to go down. £499’s way too much to spend when I can have a brand new LG G4 for £269 (With 32GB, rather than 64, admittedly, but since the Nexus doesn’t have expandable storage I have to opt for the larger version.)

I’m normally pretty lucky when it comes to avoiding manufacturing defects and such - two main exceptions are my Xbox One’s broken Kinect and noisy power supply, and my old iPad 2’s leaky backlight - so I’m hoping I won’t have too much trouble there. I don’t mind sending phones back until I get a good one, anyway.

I’m debating whether or not to just get a refund. Now that I have two Nexus 6Ps in my possession I can truly see just how broken both phones are. The screen of the original phone arrived with a horrible yellow hue and had quiter than expected speakers but being in isolation I was ignorant as to whether or not these were legit problems.

The replacement phone was clearly defective. I’ve had the original phone for 2 months and have dropped it plenty of times but it has zero cosmetic damage so I’m properly perplexed as to how the two dents in the replacement below happened.

I’m really disappointed as this is the second time a Nexus device had caused me a load of grief.

Hey, it’s up to you, man. Personally, after almost four years of fairly satisfied Nexus ownership, I’d much rather stick with the brand than not, but it’s all down to your personal experience in the end.

It is pretty remarkable that the second phone was so thoroughly beaten up. I have to imagine they accidentally sent out a returned unit, or something.

Yeah I reckon I got a refurbished unit by mistake. Still I might end up with 3 damn 6Ps at some point. I gonna ask if I can keep the chargers for all the inconvenience, much better than a Google Play music voucher.
